Was able to attend the NC Comic Con in Durham last weekend. It was a lot of fun but I didn't move very many prints. :c
I've come to terms with the fact that my work is still too new for any one to want to bother paying for it... until its published on a wider level of popularity at least.
So I've crunched some numbers and found a way to adjust my business approach. Hopefully all the supplies necessary to make my plan come to fruition arrive in the mail on time.
Previously I've been selling 11x17 art prints at 10 dollars each and black and white prints at 5 dollars. Irritatingly only one print featuring a popular anime character has been selling with this method.
The approach now will be to make print sets, essentially selling them at 3 for 20 dollars... additionally I'll be giving them their choice of 4 black and white prints. It will be a 50 dollar value for only 20 dollars!
Ultimately I need to make some more fan pieces but my work load this semester has been immense. So in the meanwhile I need to find a more effective method for moving what I've got.
Additionally I'm looking to get some post card sized colored prints made of my more popular works to sell for 5 dollars, for those with little spending funds.
I'm trying to get a table at the VA Comic Con for the weekend after next but they're sold out already so my business associate and I are hoping/praying to purchase a no-show table the day of. Were still in talks with the convention coordinator at this time.
Hopefully I nail down my business model soon because my funds are fading fast and graduation is looming overhead. ~ o~
