Rilly loving how little by little the piece becomes more alive!
The highlight layers will make it even more real. I've no clue if I'll be able to get this done before Halloween, but am still digging the project all the same. I'm still debating if I need to do a partial clothed variant just so I can post it without having to worry about censorship rules, and ensure it gets out to more peoples. Would likely add several more days to the project. I for sure need to get this one done up for poster prints of some sort.

It's really starting to come to life now!!!
from right to left we got the base inks, the flat colors, and with the base shadow layers. Still lots of work to go but already am starting to get a good sense of how it will all come together. Colors will likely radically change along the way still as I balance things out. Wont be streaming till likely Monday night due to getting kidnapped for my 40th birthday! which is... TODAY! October 15th 1981! The same year that The Howling and American Werewolf were released! Coincidence??? So much work to do still that I worry if I can get this knocked out before Halloween, though none of my previous attempts at a major Halloween project were on time so why not this one too? XD I still need to do a more clothed variant for a general release and maybe to get some merch made too but will have to see how the time frame plays out and if it will damage the look of things to much. Would love to get your feed back on them all though. Which one is your favorite of the ladies featured? do they feel distinct enough from one another? Which of them might you want to see expanded upon as deeper characters for Crimson Dames? Gotta run for now, thanks so much for your continued support especially in these uncertain times, I can't even begin to show my appreciation to you all deeply enough as you deserve. ;D Just about got the main figures to where I'm happy with them!
Though every day find some new issue needing correcting. XD Now I need to figure out the background. Will be some form of underground stone structure. Which of these shewolf brides do you like most? Are there any you think feel off still? I suspect inking this piece is gonna be a major slog, what with so many figures. ---------- In other news I'm on my 6th day without eating and am still not hungry. Tho after having stayed up too late one day I'm finding myself pretty low on energy, tho sleeping more helps to let the body break down even more body fat. Started this Keto Diet and Fast at 245 lbs, and today I currently weigh 233.8! Nearly 12 pounds lost so far. about 3ish more weeks to go before my birthday this October 15th! Will reward myself with a new pair of pants, and a gourmet Cheeseburger, preferably a Keto friendly one. :p Will be a great way to start the clime to my 5th decade on this planet. ^_ ^Wish me luck! And don't forget to help spread the word! And maybe consider becoming a patron to ensure I have the funds necessary to continue this endeavor. ^o ^ Man feels like I was never gonna get this one done!
So many of the various aspects of the pieces needed constant reworks, and every time I thought I was done I'd find like 2 or 3 other mistakes that I needed to correct. I'm really happy with how it came out tho. I especially love how the colors for Granny Wolf came out. She has a much more sinister edge about her now. Prisoners face gave me a ton of problems I'm not sure why but it just kept coming out way too masculine during the process till I zeroed in on what we see here. Might still be a tad too masculine but it works overall. XD The Aberrant Jailers gave me issues too in getting their scale to feel massive while not allowing them to eat up too much of the pages real estate. Zeroing on their colors was an issue too, took me a while to find a way to light them that didn't distract too much from everything that was going on. I've got the High Res Files and the original .PSD uploaded for patrons to check out and uploaded the file to teepublic for merch if peeps happen to be in need of some. ^_ ^ For the rest of the month I want to focus on remaking an older illustration that I feel never turned out as well as it could have that I think will be a fun piece for Halloween. Wold love to hear your feedback for the pic can't wait to get the next one done up for vampire, that one will be especially fun to create. Been plugging away at these shadow layers trying to get the sense of lighting just right. The base colors will likely wildly change as things move forward, as I'll be giving everything a greenish tinge from above. Will be a lot of back and forth to get all the elements to feel natural to one another.
If anything sticks out as particularly wrong at the moment tho please don't hesitate to bring it up to me so I can correct it before it becomes a major hassle to do so. :p I really get a kick out of drawing these 2, their faces are so much more expressive than some of my other characters. Well I guess Prisoner's is a bit more subdued here but usually, there's a lot going on there. XD I may change the colors for Granny Wolf's attire completely perhaps something more violet? The nice thing with this process is that its relatively easy for me to adjust the base colors without having to radically alter the shadow layers. I can't really tell how much longer this piece will take, but hopefully not too much longer. I'm pretty eager to knock out the Vampire Vs. piece and be able to see the whole set side by side. If the novella can have a dust jacket it might be fun to have it be reversible so that all 4 can be displayed somewhere. Man this ones been taking up so much time and I really have no idea why.
Am I letting too many things distract me on a daily basis?? Whatever the cause I really love how its coming out. I deeply apologize for the lack of new posts, but I have been plugging away at these projects diligently. I just feel that it wastes too much time posting each nights progress every night, especially if the average viewer can't really see the difference. So I had been waiting for better milestones to show off. :p Tell me though if you prefer seeing those progress reports. With September around the corner I really need to start thinking up what this years Halloween project will be. Should I add a couple spooky ladies to the Ladies of Halloween project? Or would peeps prefer more progress on The Shewolf Bride comic? (Now housed under "Projects". I really need to get back to the writing of the novella too. Finally it is complete!
Took longer than I had hoped, (Like Always) but it was worth it I'd say. I really like how the 2 look together. Can't wait to get the other 2 created to see the whole set together. In the meanwhile though it's time for this months role for loot! Rules to play! https://www.studio-aegis.com/roll-for-loot.html While the prize pool is small don't forget that you can easily boost both pools by 1 simply by becoming a Copper Tier Patron! Starts as low as 2$ per month. ^_ ^ Also becoming a patron is the 1 time I allow peeps to re roll (but primarily from Rabbit to Cat mode) :p I'll be getting back to the sketches in the queue of which there are several from the previous contest that have not yet chosen what they wanted!!! If you wait too long u'll end up waiting longer if I'm in a coloring mode. :p After that though I'm not sure if I should jump right into the 3rd image with Red Riding Hood Prisoner Vs. Granny Wolf, or if I should do something completely unrelated for the sake of something unique. Was contemplating taking another stab at that harpy concept I wanted to do, I rediscovered the reference I was intending to base it on tho I had some how lost track of it at the time. XD Cast your Rolls and tell me what you think in the discord or Livestream. ^o ^ Apologies for the lack of updates, I'm still diligently working on this project, I just don't post the progress every day due to it sometimes not being easily visible whats changed if your not directly comparing them. :p
Sadly it's been taking longer than I'd like tho. I managed to get back onto a day shift sleep schedule, but I still have such a hard time to reach 100% energy. :\ Currently I'm working in the highlight layer. It's much easier now to grasp what it's final form will be now, I'm still pushing and pulling stuff back and forth till I find the right balance for everything. Once its complete I'll be holding another Roll for Loot Contest and knocking out the back log of the queue. Would really like to get peeps feedback on the current progress. I had to reduce the intensity of the red for Standard's banner due to it confusing her silhouette. I contemplating if I need to adjust her lighting to reflect more of a night scene, due to the different coloration of this moons lighting. I'm not sure if after this project if I'll be going straight into the 3rd for the set or do something with the novella or something completely different altogether. Voice what you'd like to see in the Discord. Also for my Patrons I'd love to hear from you all as to whether any of you are having any issues accessing your rewards, or if the system is too confusing to navigate. So I can get it straightened up. :p Don't forget I stream almost daily so be sure to track me down in the links in the footer. ^o ^ Man these swords took a lot longer to draw out than I had hoped.
Been fighting with sleep issues and being super lethargic, but it feels like I'm finally starting to break free of that hellish cycle. I'm starting to debate if I shouldn't change the banner so that it passes behind her rather than the front. Hrmm actually I think one of the swords needs to be moved down some too, doesn't feel quite right to me at the moment. I'm already getting the flat colors worked out and will be able to start figuring out the shadow layers very soon! Tell me what you think so far! Will be starting my daily stream soon, hope to see you there! https://picarto.tv/StudioAegis |
