I had forgotten to add the cloak to this piece and the completed "Cursed Meat" piece as well.
I'll get the new version of that posted up soonish. Just really been wanting to barrel ahead with knocking out as many pencils for all of the pages I can possibly contemplate needing/wanting. It's helped a lot in allowing me the time to look over with fresh eyes the currently completed works and ensuring they are all up to speed, before finishing them and only then realizing I wasn't that fond of the final result. Which has been a big part of why this project has drug on as long as it has. :\ Seeing all of the pages lined up in order side by side has really made me excited at how this is all going to look once complete. Once the pencils are all done I'll get back to finishing up the first draft then if any new images have been inspired after that I'll pencil those up as well, meanwhile inking the oh so many pages that have been added to the project. Man took so long to get a good pose for this one pinned down! It fought me tooth an nail resisting being born.
Am pretty happy with how it turned out though. Aurg man just realized! I forgot to add her cloak wrapped around her waist. Also just realized I forgot to add it into the piece where shes slaying the Monstress! > .<*** Mnrrrg Do I add it back in to both pieces? Or write the story that it fell off? also realized I forgot to put in her belly scar. Y oY Ah well whatever, I'll decide on it later. Am not awake enough to start that amount of work. :\ Will chill out the rest of the night with some video games, and hopefully get back to a day schedule. XD Tell me what you think I should do tho. :p Skirt or no skirt? Realized too that I named a piece with the Monstress dogging Orphan as Wild Tormentor. I think I should change that one to be Wicked Tormentor, and this one to be Wild Tormentor. Show a reversal of roles. Decided to completely redo Prisoner's Expression and pose on an idea given to my by my brother. It really was the last little thing it was missing to really make it excel. ^ o^
Also touched up some of the various tendrils here and there for the sake of balance. I really liked how it came out. ^ o^ Phewa this one took a while to get pinned down. I had like 6 bodies in here at one point but it was causing the piece to lose focus so I decided to cut back and bring it in a bit closer to the main 2 bodies.
Red Riding Hood Prisoner typically fights with an Ax or a Crossbow, but she is quite adept at a rather manic form of makeshift wrestling she learned in the Wolfheim Asylum. Her skills as a herbalist also plays a big role in just how unpredictable she is in a fight. One of her favorite forms of attack is tossing a ghost mushroom into the mouth of her combatant. Which causes them to go prone immediately from the incessant amount of screams going off in their head. The effect tends to wear out after some hours but by then the fight has long since ended. Prisoner is often seen using these deadly fungi as a seasoning in her own food, which apparently seems to have no affect on her. Though it speculated that shes just grown used to the presence of voices going off in her head. One of her deadliest weapons is Coma Dust. A rare concoction of herbs that has a chance of putting the victim into a coma state for as long as 3 minutes to 30 years! either way, pretty effective of stopping most large beast in their tracks with a light dusting of their air ways. Don't underestimate the potential of the insane, especially when they have such a grab bag of seemingly random skills. The first of several pics for the upcoming Crimson Dames Novella which will show each in the midst of battle with the gran Monstress, Who if not stopped will grant the doom to not only our party but all that is good and wholesome in the lands within the Eidolon Woods.
Really like how this one came out, will be really fun coloring this one. Inking it shouldn't be a complete drag either. ^ o^ The Monstress arises! Out to bring doom to all who dare desecrate her domain of evil. In her first corporeal body in over a millennia, now composed of plant matter, lies, and the bones of her previous victims. Her black heart beats for none save herself and she will not relinquish it to any mere vampire no mater their rank.
Her starting mass is massive, but as she grows sub bodies from the central core her overall scale becomes reduced. Her flesh has a grayish translucent appearance, it can exert a great amount of kinetic force though it isn't so difficult to cut through. As to what lovecraftian entity corrupted her body only I know for sure. It was a Lunar Octopus. . o . Wow it took me so long to get this pose down properly, and even now I suspect it has major flaws I just haven't noticed yet.
overall though its a lot stronger than the previous version! Man my work load for these inks just keeps growing. Gonna need to carefully balance the time spent inking to avoid making people disinterested. Errg with each one of these I chose to redo the more I feel I need to be redoing others in the series. Y oY I need to be stopped! The rebirth of the Monstress to corporeal form! I need to do a recolor of the Arising Doom Piece, tho... I'm starting to contemplate that I should re pencil that on entirely to make it better match the current level of detail.
This one took a bit longer than I expected to get penciled up. Will take far longer to ink tho. . o ,
In this scene Vampire is getting ready to activate the tomb when Standard suddenly hears Orphan crying out from the structure above and bolts to save her from whatever threat might be out there. I had the idea that Prisoner might mention that "Hay these are Bloodshade Kudzu, their bad news for cemeteries and old peoples homes." "Well, don't hold it in your hand!" |
