Mnrrg accurate foreshortening and perspective can be such a pain sometimes. XD
Lotta changes / refining to get the anatomy and body language to all match up properly. Started shrinking down Standards face but i think it might be too large now still compared to the rest of whats visible of her body.
Mnrrg accurate foreshortening and perspective can be such a pain sometimes. XD
Hrmm not sure which variation of this pic feels better just yet.
I shrank down Orphan's body initially because I wanted to get more of her arms in there, but now I'm thinking it feels too small so I made a quick edit using the mid and large scale to see how it feels. I'm not sure which feels best just yet given how big she is in some of the other pics in the novella.
Thinking about it now I think trying to update a pencil sketch from half a year ago is restricting me too much.
I'm thinking I just need to start over from scratch and find a better dynamic pose for this particular piece.
This project has gone on for so long It feels like I've wildly improved from the earlier pieces in the set now. I'm sort of feeling like I really should just do something extreme like start over. I guess given the nature of a novella it wont be quite so big an issue if there are some inconsistencies in the character models or skill levels, but it just riles up my perfectionist nature really bad. :\
What do you think??? Leave a comment and help me decide.
Or is anyone reading these?? Y oY
Commend below here if u do. :c
The completed logos! Or at least I think they are. I just put in the last bit of feed back they had. 1 to make the spikes and teeth sharper for the flat version, and that I had forgotten to put the tail on top of the logo for the full version.
Came out a lot faster than I expected overall which I'm very grateful for in that I now can get back to my novella! :D
Had a short notice project come down from Dragon Shield today and I would feel really bad to have to turn them down after they've made my works into an entire line of product.
That and I really need the funds to put towards my move to a new apartment. I need to get out of this tuna can.
here are 3 concepts I came up with tonight to give them a bit of choice. I believe I'll have to also do a fully rendered version as well with inks and color. Should still be a fairly quick job if they get their feedback back to me in a timely manner.
I'm sort of torn between the first 2 myself, which one do you like better?
Wound up having to take the night off due to how tired I've been, but then proceeded to spend the entire night adding the new novella page to my website. XD
I sadly can't show this one off in full till the Novella is ready to launch fully. But! For as little as $2 you can access all the illustrations early as a Copper Tier Patron! :D
I really like how it came out overall. I know it's not quite as exciting a piece as some of the pages that will be included in the book but it my hope is that it helps to emphasize the atmosphere and danger of their situation.
Now I need to decide, do I put out another novella page? or get some more work on the Shewolf Comic? Cast your votes to help me decide! :D
And for sure tell me what you think overall. especially those of you who have had the chances to see the currently finished colored pages. I really need to set up some time to get back into the writing though.
This was originally supposed to just be a small side project but its grown into being what will debut the series. Its sort of like how some Anime do it, where you start in the middle of the series to see how things will be in the thick of it before going back to the origins of each character.
Where I hope to entice you with how the characters interact with one another and the level of dangers they have to deal with on a daily basis. That way my hope is that once we go back to the origins of the various characters that you have a taste of whats to come.
along the way there will be side stories like this shewolf payset and the Chayse family that I want to get into as a means of better gearing up for the big push.
Is a challenge trying to pin down what I want to do with the phantom in the background.
Normally I would have it glowing quite brightly but I don't want it to overpower the main figure, that and I want to avoid making it feel like shes staring at it directly.
Its more a visual representation of her staring out into the void as she descends the ancient staircase.
Got the flats all laid down, and have started working in the primary shadows.
Given the style of lantern the lighting on this piece has to be handled carefully.
I want the phantom in the back to be nearly imperceptible just enough so to cause a creepy sense of unease.
I really like the direction things are moving in though, still still be a lot of pushing and pulling to go but its off to a good start.
I started roughing in some shadows last yesterday as I was winding down for the night and came to the realization that the placement of the leftmost knee is way off. I'll have to get that adjusted before moving forward.
Since so much of this page is supposed to be in darkness I'm suspecting that the colors should be fairly quick to knock out.
The cast shadows however I can already tell are going to be quite the challenge to figure out, since her lantern will be the primary light source.
Story wise at some point she ends up dropping her lantern after a massive gust of wind forces her to hunker down to avoid being knocked off the stairs, its then that they realize the paranormal nature of this particular space when shortly after her lantern ends up cracking her upside the head when it lands on her from above.
It's an encounter that would have more than likely had led to their deaths had they not been accompanied by an Necromancer Elite.
At some point Standard starts to question why things have gotten so much harder to endure since they let Vampire Join up with them.
Also of note is that this is one of the rare times that Standard isn't accompanied by her banner. She left it with Orphan due to it not being a practical weapon to use in right quarters. She isn't unarmed though. Her over sized plate bracers each hold 3 Dirks sheathed on the underside. 2 each of Silver, Steel, and pioneer era Ceramic. Each having varying levels of effectiveness against the myriad of monsters that inhabit their world.
Her main body is just about done now, just a couple more adjustments here or there I'll add in as I notice them.
Tomorrow the Wall and Stairs should be the last of the inks.
I think with Phantom I'm debating if I should ink it the way I draw some other ghosts in the novella so far or if I should just make it more painterly and blending into the background. Will have to wait and see how things play out.
Will be back tomorrow with more for sure though. ^ _^
The hardest parts are complete for the now inking wise. :D
Last nights progress on the new novella page.
This piece takes place during a scene were the adults of the party have gone off to check for any potential dangerous inhabitants and or useful supplies.
They discover a secret door in a wretched kitchen leading to a rusty set of stairs leading down into a black abyss. The space is many times larger than the cabin above, and theres a sense that their being watched by... something.

Man poured several hours into this before taking a step back getting ready to save then realized i'd sucked all the flow of the pose right out of it! > .<
So had to go back and bring more of the angles and curves back to the piece.
I'm not quite satisfied with how her head and face looks just yet. I'll take another stab at it tomorrow. I foresee that being the one part of this piece that resists me the whole time.
The ghost in the background will be played out in such a way that it wont be obvious that its there. Or at least thats what I'm hoping to achieve.
The idea is that its more a representation of the hatred the Monstress has towards the Crimson Dames for intruding into her echo chamber.
I'm hoping this one wont take too long to knock out, just depends on how badly the pose for the head resists. XD
What are your thoughts on it so far?
Finally it is complete!
Had some snags along the way that really drew out the time it took to finish, but I'm really happy with how it came out.
The "clothed version with logo" is the general release version. (Wood Tier) (Free)
Copper Tier Patrons can access the High Res variants with or without logo. ($2)
Silver Tier Patrons gain access to the Nude Variants! Topless, Bottomless, and Nude. ($10)
Gold Tier Patrons gain access to the original .PSDs were they can examine how its all put together. (For Learning Purposes Only) ($20)
Little by little a story started to form in my head concerning where this piece falls in the wider story. And I think it will work best as a frontier mission that has become isolated when surrounding towns were destroyed by the various monsters that roam those lands.
A chapel where some of the patrons have become werewolves. Rather than simply give in to the lure of power and lust they do what they cant to resist and maintain their humanity. They would play a role later in the series, somewhere in the third arc where things are at their most dire, and help illuminate the true nature of those cursed with lycanthropy for the Crimson Dames.
Tell me what you all think and please don't forget to help spread the word!
Been a challenge trying to find a color scheme best suited to push for a horror pulp theme.
I'm still not quite sold with where it's at just yet but its getting closer.
The big wolf in the back I think is working, but I might just have to go with a more natural color scheme for the girl.
Candle Flames don't feel good enough yet I'll give those another pass later before fully rendering them.
Still a ways to go but I'm still digging how its slowly starting to come together.
Tell me what you all think, does it have that Pulp Horror Vibe yet? Is it too Garrish? or not enough so? Or should i go with something a tad more natural?
Just realized I never posted a clean ink set for the clothed and non clothed variants.
I even set it up so there can be just a topless (and or bottomless) variant.
Only the first of these final versions will be available to non patrons.
Which one do you like more??
Finally got the bulk of the flat colors put together.
I'm trying to go for more of a pulp horror style for the colors with this one, hence the strange color
set for the shewolf so far.
Still a lot of experimenting to go before its all all ready to go.
I'm pretty happy with how her clothing came out tho maybe its still not enough to be considered truly SFW. What do you think?
The clothed variant will be the publicly released version and the Nude variant will be for the Silver Tier and above.
I don't think that these flames are working just it'll get there tho. ^ _^
The main body inks are complete!
Now I just need to do up the torn clothing she'll be wearing for the SFW variant.
Man I can't believe how long it took me to get that stupid arm to work.
Everything else came together so quickly. = o=
Really hate when stuff like that happens.
As this is to be a gallery piece I couldn't let myself settle for such a glaring imperfection.
I wanted to try and experiment on some Pulp Novella type colors for this pick. Was leaning towards a sickly green potentially. But we'll see what feels right on the day of. XD
Hope you all like it as much as I do so far.
I wish I could get stuff of this level knocked out in a single day.
Please be sure to leave me feed back on what you like so far, where ever you'd like. Do you like it? hate it? Love it? have a recommendation? I really would like to hear from my fans more often. Don't be shy thinking your not skilled enough to lend a proper critique. Sometimes an amateur can more easily pick out an odd bit of anatomy than the person whose been staring at it too closely for too long. XD
Phewa much better progress tonight!
Just gotta finish inking this background now. Oh and the background. X0
I might need to make some adjustments to these hands still though.
They still feel a tad off to me.
What do you all think about them so far? Any recommendations on what feels off?
Man I need to find a better way to speed up this inking process.
Should have finished 3 pages of inks by this point. TT oTT
Thanks again so much for all of your patron support! :D
Aurg THIS HAND!
Man yesterday I had one of those days were nothing I drew came out right, primarily concerning this one hand, spent over 12 hours trying to find a pose that works, and in my sleep deprived state I thought this looked okay but now with fresh eyes I'm just like... "Aurrg!"
Hopefully today I can get it figured out. Did some tweaks to the shewolf's anatomy. I need to tweek her legs a bit still. The big werewolf's lower body feels off balance at this point, due mostly because of how fast I was having to move by the end of the night.
Hrmm I'm wondering if shouldnt just make the big werewolf a female too. There isn't a lot of space to bring out the musculature the way I originally wanted and I the shape dynamic would better get the point across I think. not sure just yet, what do you think?
Was really hoping I would have been done with the inks by now.
once that hand is shorted out the rest will fall into place pretty quickly.
One thing I need to address a bit better is getting across the idea of short body fur on the lower extremities feels a bit sparse at the moment.
Feels like I took a step backwards yesterday over all. Maybe I've just deprived myself of sleep too much the last couple of days being so gung ho to finish the inks. :\
Is quite the challenge to get the werewolf fur to have the right sense of body and floof, so to speak.
This one hand is giving me trouble, took a considerable amount of time to get it looking this good, but it still feels off, cant quite put my finger on why yet.
I've been making non stop adjustments to the big werewolf this whole time, and it still has a ways to go, but I'm still digging where its going.
What do you all think about it? I really do want to hear what you all think whether positive or negative so I can better gauge what I'm doing wrong. XD
As always please help to spread the word, I'm really hoping to move into a new apartment this year but i need a stronger following to support the increase in financial obligation such a move will bring. :0
I did another a big overhaul on the werewolf's face. And tried changing up the background to something a bit more eerie.
I kind of feel like i'm cheating by not showing where the candles connect, but I think it'll work out in the end.
I'm considering adjusting the fur on the fur around the biggun's face one more time.
Overall I'm really digging out this one is coming out. Will be a lot of fun to color.
The hours I have the energy to put in have grown quite a bit more now that I'm back on my own works. Went from 7-9 hours per day to 13-16 hours per day.
The actual progress made is comparatively small to other artists but I'm pretty happy with how its all shaping up.
Getting the idea now that whoever hasn't succeeded in turning yet gets stuck with the crap jobs, like keeping all the candles lit. XD
Tell me what you all think so far!
And please don't forget to like fave share or reshare links to my galleries or sites, it really helps me out a ton.
I'm finally back to where I can start saving funds again so I'm going to save up for a new apartment and hopefully at the same time or some time after I'll be able to get a vehicle too, and get take back my independence.
That being said though I'll really need to get my income higher to build a safer cushion. Please consider becoming a patron if you really love what I'm creating Links are in the footer below!

Todays progress after a 15 hour livestream! :D
Got the shewolf almost completely inked
needs a few adjustments here and there but is off to a good start ^ o^
Also made more adjustments to the werewolf again, felt a bit off.
I'm really liking how this one is coming out so far. :D
Please be sure to help spread the word if you really like it.
I need all the help I can get. :0
Did up the clothing for a censored version, also adjusted the werewolf's fur a bit and added a bit of jewelry on the shewolf to add more to the Gothic feel to the piece. Tell me what you think! :D
Phewa, finally finished this one up.
Feels like it might be missing something still, but I'll let the Art Director and his people decide what they need adjusted.
Final invoice has been sent out so I should be free for the next day or so till they get back to me.
Was considering doing a Crimson Dames related illustration.
Perhaps something that could serve as a poster or shirt. that or just a moody transformation scene? Not sure yet. That or just jump right into finishing up a new illustration for the novella.
I really need to get back to finishing writing it too. Its been a sort of by the seat of my pants sort of project so far but doing up a few illustrations in advance helped to inform the writing, which in turn helped to inform further illustrations.
Can't wait to get a solid product out there for the world to see. Then once the novella and comic are complete I'll probably start the prolog story with the chayse family and the wraparound vampire segment.
First of the month is coming up soon. I implore my current patrons to please consider swapping over from Deviant art to the paypal subscriptions. Links in the footer below!
Would really help me to further push what I can accomplish with your support. ^ _^
In the meanwhile please tell me about what you'd like to see next out of me.
