Now that the inks are in a good place the coloring is on! Working in the initial shadow layer for Historia.
Shading the grass will be an interesting challenge what with the angle I set the lighting for it.
I'm digging where its going so far tho just a lot of stuff to plug away at still.
Main body has been adjusted, gettin the grass to feel more unified with the winds direction.
Hows it feel to you???
Just got to where the inks were completed yesterday, but comparing it to the original pencils it just feels so stiff by comparison.
I am making the hard decision to redo the arms and the grass, as I don't like how that feels very much either.
Here are the major changes I'll be making.
Once I finish this pic I'll be getting back to the sketch requests so be sure that you got urs filled in. :p
Decided to change things up by making a fully colored illustration for patrons and non patrons alike. :p
I penciled this one up some months back, and thought it was about time I get it completed.
Need to think of some minor elements I could add to help provide her sense of scale a bit better.
I started inking the expanded body for this original designs and am really digging the power that curve in the back is adding to the overall piece.
Though looking at what I penciled up yesterday for the other phases of the transformation I'm not really feeling them anymore.
I think I can salvage the face and hair for the first but pic of Orphan but the body's elongated form doesn't feel as interesting as I hoped it would yet.
Then the second pic I did feels like its not working at all so I'll seek out something with more of the energy that this expanded 3rd piece has.
Tell me what you think though and don't forget the "Roll for Loot Contest" is live! Jump on in there and cast dem bones.
And don't forget to spread the word as each new patron or upped pledge will boost the pot. I would love to have the problem of having to draw 50 sketches due to an addition of 50 patrons. XD
The second image here also feels too close to the final form. an issue I'm always struggling with.
The completed inks for the latest novella pic.
The completed color version will only be available as early access until the project is officially complete.
Seeing how this ones been turning out I see now that I really need to go back and adapt the "Battle for the Doom Cabin" piece.
It's been needing some minor improvements, but I think I need to completely redraw orphan for that piece. As I was still narrowing down her final shewolf design when that first piece was done so long ago.
This piece will have quite a bit of blood spray. You might not be able to tell without the colors but the Monstress is having her throat torn out by Orphan.
Most of the torn tendrils are thanks to Vampire's necromancer bolts. to include the blown out eye and gaping wound in her torso.
I'm not precisely sure how to classify this creature. It starts off as a ghost, tied to a pocket dimension, but shes able to go corporeal when psychic attacks failed to get the job done.
Perhaps this shouldn't be the final appearance of this monster. maybe the next time she appears she'd be better suited as a minion for Vampire.
