Just about got the main figures to where I'm happy with them!
Though every day find some new issue needing correcting. XD Now I need to figure out the background. Will be some form of underground stone structure. Which of these shewolf brides do you like most? Are there any you think feel off still? I suspect inking this piece is gonna be a major slog, what with so many figures. ---------- In other news I'm on my 6th day without eating and am still not hungry. Tho after having stayed up too late one day I'm finding myself pretty low on energy, tho sleeping more helps to let the body break down even more body fat. Started this Keto Diet and Fast at 245 lbs, and today I currently weigh 233.8! Nearly 12 pounds lost so far. about 3ish more weeks to go before my birthday this October 15th! Will reward myself with a new pair of pants, and a gourmet Cheeseburger, preferably a Keto friendly one. :p Will be a great way to start the clime to my 5th decade on this planet. ^_ ^Wish me luck! And don't forget to help spread the word! And maybe consider becoming a patron to ensure I have the funds necessary to continue this endeavor. ^o ^

Man feels like I was never gonna get this one done!
So many of the various aspects of the pieces needed constant reworks, and every time I thought I was done I'd find like 2 or 3 other mistakes that I needed to correct. I'm really happy with how it came out tho. I especially love how the colors for Granny Wolf came out. She has a much more sinister edge about her now. Prisoners face gave me a ton of problems I'm not sure why but it just kept coming out way too masculine during the process till I zeroed in on what we see here. Might still be a tad too masculine but it works overall. XD The Aberrant Jailers gave me issues too in getting their scale to feel massive while not allowing them to eat up too much of the pages real estate. Zeroing on their colors was an issue too, took me a while to find a way to light them that didn't distract too much from everything that was going on. I've got the High Res Files and the original .PSD uploaded for patrons to check out and uploaded the file to teepublic for merch if peeps happen to be in need of some. ^_ ^ For the rest of the month I want to focus on remaking an older illustration that I feel never turned out as well as it could have that I think will be a fun piece for Halloween. Wold love to hear your feedback for the pic can't wait to get the next one done up for vampire, that one will be especially fun to create. I hadn't started a new contest for this month yet due to already having a lot on my plate with trying to get this latest illustration complete, and the queues are actually pretty thick with reservations that peeps hadn't filled out yet.
So I was using the time to experiment with some sketches for myself as warm ups before I got back to the coloring of the main project this month. One thing these sketches revealed to me is that I still got so much to learn concerning anatomy. XD But its the sort of thing that the more you know the more you understand how much you still don't know. I really like how some of these came out tho. I'm really torn between wanting to have my shewolves have those long spindly fingers with daggers for claws, that or the design thats closer to a paw, be it bear or wolf. Both have their strong points and difficulties in drawing regularly. I tend to find myself drawing the same hand poses a bit too often tho. I need to research some alternate angles to experiment with. maybe that will be the next streams warm up just filling a page with claws, hands, and paws. Which of these did you like most? Don't forget if you have a sketch reserved in the queue to think up what you would like. While the guidelines are fairly lose on what you can request, be sure to remember that affording the artist more more creative freedom will tend to net you better results, and also take into account the subject matter I most enjoy drawing. :p Oh! Almost forgot, don't forget that I recently reinstated accepting membership payments with Minds Tokens. For a good while it started to seem like it was a worthless process that only made money for the crypto companies, but recently I learned how to properly cash them out for real money, well relatively speaking. So if you hadn't given minds.com a try you really should consider giving it a whirl. More and more artist there are starting to accept them as a form of commission or payment for goods. You can use my referral link to sign up. https://www.minds.com/register?referrer=studio_aegis Its a social site that works to preserve freedom of speech, and while sometimes that means having to see some stuff u might find offensive or incredibly stupid, it ensures dialogs remain open were we can encounter new ideas or contrary talking points other channels like twitter or facebook actively work to suppress. gotta take the good with the bad sometimes. The site still has some growing pains to work out, they lack some features I'd really like to see, and they got a major problem with bot accounts trying to farm up extra revenue, But overall the set up has made for a much more wholesome group of people who can be fun to converse with if not outright enlightening to be around. I rarely use facebook or twitter anymore because It just serves to infuriate me anymore. Give it a try tho and see what you can accomplish, cultivate the following/feed you want. ^_ ^ Some rough sketches I made between bouts of coloring recently.
I tend to get rather single minded about whatever task I'm working on where my art is concerned. Swapping between penciling, inking, coloring, or cropping/resizing is irritating due to having to start the process over of finding the grove again of whatever phase I was on. The unfortunate result, if left unchecked tho, is that I could go weeks without penciling. So I'm trying to force myself to to some sketches for practice while my sketch queue is empty. Its currently not empty but people seem to be sitting on their reservations a lot more lately, not sure why tho. :\ Gotta think up a cool project for October too, to preferably be completed in not November. XD Will use these sketches as brain storming to see what floats to the top. |
