 Phewa I'm so sorry its taken me so long to finish this one! To T
I started this pic back in September in anticipation of it being my Halloween project. I'm a big fan of Go Nagai's Devilman especially of his Devilman Lady. So It's a character I really love and very much wanted to do her justice. Then I wound up having to fight with the VA over my dental care. A fight I ultimately lost that left me bitterly defeated and very low on reserve mental energy and as a result physical energy. It led to me just seemingly having forgotten how to draw, and I had to redo numerous major parts of this work to get things looking to were I could accept them. I'm sure those peeps who frequent my streams are sick of seeing me work on this piece. There are still parts I'm not super happy with but overall it gets the job done. I'm really sorry if it felt like I've completely dropped off the map while working on this piece. It just felt like it wasn't worth sharing the WIP steps for this one as it would have been long stretches of looking nearly identical to outsiders. Given that were so close to Christmas already I plan to just work on doing some sketch work in the meanwhile. It feels like I've really lost track of exactly where I'm at with my Patrons and I need to get that tightened up.  Man the lighting for this one wound up being really tricky for some reason. I'm sure I've messed up with the shading and lighting but overall I like where it ended up.
Little Sister excitedly grabs the collar waiting for Big Sister to finish changing. She has a few bullies down in the village she'd like to introduce to her Big Sister. I'd thought up this simple moment of Orphan getting licked by one of the Daughters of the Fangs Brides. But it wound up helping to add a lot of connective tissue to various small moments and scenes I had in mind that will greatly help in fleshing out some powerful moments deeper into the series. I'd thought it would be fun if the girl licking Orphan winds up going Bleeck! She tastes like soap. ~ o~ Which would call back to a funny moment I wanted to do where RRH Standard gets sick of the smell of wet dog, and dunks Orphan into a pond and scrubs her down with a bar of soap leaving her comedically traumatized. With this new moment though I thought it could be really cool if the trio ends up going looking for Orphan later tracking her down by her scent. only to stumble upon Standard and Prisoner instead and freak out fleeing. Leading to the realization that the Fang hunters have been tracking the trio down via the scent of Standards Soap. Leading to them being able to turn the table on a major trap set for them taking out their pursuers. This will also be a moment that leads to one of the trio mentioning how Orphan looks just like the goddess they pray to of Queen Lupina the first of the werewolves in their world. This will lead to even more crazy revelations deeper into the story. It was such a small moment but its helped to pay off so many unique moments and set up others. This piece features a creature I wound up sketching up in a random sketch session. I was intrigued enough about the potential for it that I had to draw it up. It slides along the forest floor seeking sentient prey. Where upon capture swallows them via the fang filled maw at the top of its head. Where upon the person slowly slides down and becomes incorporated into the Mycanoid network deep beneath the bleeding petrified forest. This beauty is Tephris the dragon Matriarch. Youngest of the ancient Dragon who roam about the world of the Macabre. She is the patron to the Paladin Order and has helped to guide their order and keep it free of the corrupting influences of the Necromancers. She is one of several Kaiju sized beasties that roam my stories world. Despite her prowess she has never been capable of besting her older sister Kul'Nar in battle, especially not since her sister fell in battle with the Necromancers and corrupted into a Dracolich. I apologize that it took so long to complete this and that updates have been so slow of late. I've had so little energy and drive recently and just can't seem to get my sleep schedule to return to a happy cycle. I keep finding myself completely drained of energy right when its time for my usual live stream. Yo Y Hopefully I can get that sorted out soon. I'm not sure what my next project will be just yet, but I have been in great need of flexing my creative writing muscles again. So I can get back into a writing mode to finish my novella. Kills me that I still don't have a solid work to point people to to be able to say start here. Tried a different approach to the grass with this one that helped to save a lot of time tho I'm not so sure its quite as appealing to look at. I really need to start making time to start putting these stories down for people to read. Check out Patron Tiers for the variants!  Finally complete!
One of my first illustrations created with the aid of AI. in this ones case Midjourney. Were I took inspiration from a prompt result I created accidentally while trying to get completely different results. It was an alluring yet spooky sort of result that I fell in love with and used the better poses I found there fixing up the anatomy along the way. So with this one no actual AI is directly represented in the finished work it was ultimately all hand drawn in Photoshop. In the future though I want to experiment with developing backgrounds for my illustrations to hopefully vastly speed up my workflow. I'll experiment with trying to generate a background image to my liking and drawing my characters onto it. whether I get a great singular piece or have to combine several good elements from different outputs I will ultimately be going back over it by hand to strengthen or correct various components to ensure things match my style, Am excited too to see how it helps improve my ability to render such myself. Already even with this piece I feel that my ability to do a more painterly background has already been improved upon through analyzing the styles and mediums of AI results I was very fond of. I'll make a space later to show off the AI results I liked best though none of them have yet been anything on a level I'd say was worth of being considered a finished product. even the best of them would require heavy touch ups by hand to bring up to my quality standards. I'm very excited to see where this tech goes and how it can help me to start bringing these stories to life in a more timely manner. ----- Story wise this piece features Weeping Babette, a person whose exquisite genetics afforded her the chance to become an exceedingly massive female werewolf. The events of her first transformation were sadly tragic, like most in my worlds setting. Her twin daughters Mariette and Cosette ultimately met their demise at her jaws, when she entered a berserker state during her first transformation. She is now followed by the phantoms of her daughters to torment her nightly, she cries out for them, trying to bring them close but she cannot ever seem to reach them. Babette though we explore her tale only for a brief moment, its her dual blood line that eventually leads to our Red Riding Hood Orphan becoming cursed and sharing a similar hyper transformation. ----- The final pic is loaded up into the gallery already, along with the ultra high res files for copper tier Patrons and above, as well as the original .PSD available for Gold Tier Patrons. (For learning purposes only plz) :p Would love to hear your feed back on how it came out!  Became rather captivated by Midjourney recently (to put it lightly) and wound up spending a ton of time trying to learn its ins and outs trying to figure out how I can utilize these new tools in helping to speed up my work process. Sadly learned that Midjourney is highly restrictive with their censorship and seem to have no interest in making an uncensored variant. Got banned periodically several times already. Prompting me to upgrade my video card so I could get stable diffusion set up so I could learn to use that instead. Sadly Stable Diffusion prompt system isn't nearly as intuitive as Midjourney's set up is. MJ will work in some of its own style in fascinating ways that ensures you overwhelmingly get results close to what you wanted or wildly better. Allowing its users to make new discoveries for ideas and concepts they didn't even know they wanted. SD on the other hand, wont give you nearly so much if your not exceedingly specific with what you want. Positive accidents from what I've observed are much rarer and it takes a ton of work to get something even vaguely as good as MJ. But its local variant is free and uncensored. If you can figure out how to install it. Tons of guides on how to do so but they all seem to be uniquely bad in their own way. Will take someone with zero know how in this realm considerable effort to get the app running on your rig efficiently.
While I've not yet created anything that I could call a finished product I've gotten many concepts created that has me dying to render them into a full illustration. Take this new illustration I'm working on. I had accidentally created these 2 haunting women in a forest with Midjourney so I decided to take 2 of the better ones I had found there to work into a new drawing. I had hoped it would help speed up the process, but its for the now a still rather plodding process for me. You can't trust the AI's sense of anatomy either so you have to know how to improve upon it when its ever so slightly off, or intensely so.
Overall I'm deeply disappointed with both of these systems in different ways. But the tech is advancing so quickly that hopefully in a few months its much closer to what I need to make it sing. I also must apologize for not posting enough, the holidays, various appointments, and necessary computer upgrades have my slow output even slower of late. Hopefully I can get sped up once the new year roles in. Here are a few highlights I've come up with in the past weeks. Sadly I've not made anything in SD worth showing off in the slightest yet. and its been quite aggravating to me.
They are all uniquely bad in their own ways, but also all great seeds of ideas to pick up and fly with. I wish I could more easily learn how to capture some more of this essence into my own style. For the now I'm experimenting with redrawing the elements I like most and combining them in unique original ways. I'll make a space at some point in the near future to show off more of these. For each of these decent ones I've made thousands of variants that aren't worth a dam. They've definitely helped to spark new ideas tho that will be getting implemented into my overall world of Crimson Dames.
I especially love how these prompts can widely mutate causing some surprising results that with a bit of refining can be made into stunning new characters. This lovely for instance!!!

TTo TT Man Boar you did such an amazing job updating their outfits. So many great ideas here that I'll have to work into my main designs. Really makes my current outfits feel so bland by comparison. XD I've got to really step up my game now to compete with this majesty. Man I wish I could wrap my head around this style of painting. I'm too tied to my line work and too much a perfectionist to be able to figure out a more painterly style. You pumped these out so quickly too! You completed them even before I was able to get my own Vs. illustration set fully realized. Man I desperately need to figure something out to vastly cut down my render time. I seriously encourage peeps to give these 2 great people some love with a follow. They are well worth it! Thank you again so so much! I wish I could better get across how much I adore these. I seriously want to get a poster set made with them for my house. I'll eventually get a proper page set up on site just for them that will also I hope send some traffic back your way! With all the crap I've been having to deal with recently these have done much to counter balance my year! |
