Tweaked the pencils for the main skull a bit today, that got it looking more accurate.
Started inking the head and hair, took a while to get the flow just right. Actually I don't think it's quite there just yet, but is close. Tell me what you think and get me your feed back and ideas before the inks locks down that can be done. XD

Updated the energy arc to make it a bit more interesting, hopefully now it reads more as the skulls flying out from said arc.
I imagine them flying off with a high pitch wailing, like anime styled missiles with how they do those crazy contrails. ^ o^ Hrmm I'm wondering now that if i put the background of the stone wall from the "Beacon of Light" pic that I could do up a big shadow of her in the back to make things more dramatic. Will have to experiment with that to see how cool it might be. Got Vampire's body penciled in now, I feel I might have relied on mirroring her body a bit too much, so might need to go in and tweak a few features here and there.
Not sure that I'm satisfied with the energy arch with the skulls in the middle just yet. debating if i should work in more of the background but in its current state it seems like any more elements might be more distracting than anything New illustration for the novella.
This is a scene were Red Riding Hood: Vampire upon realizing that they are trapped within a looped space unleashes a rapid succession of necro bolts into the void in order to collapse the warped space. debating if I should include Orphan and Standard in the pic and if so where. This takes place in the same location that the "Beacon of Light" illustration was set in so there's not a whole lot to see background wise. It might be preferrable to just leave it as a display of light in the void. Will have to experiment and see. Finally got this one completed tonight! ... For the third time. TT oTT
I'm usually of the mind set that it's best to move on from older works, but as this is an illustration for an as yet unreleased product I need it to be the best it can be. I really need to double my efforts and get this thing finished before my skills hit a new spike in growth and I'm back at correcting this piece yet again. XD Please don't forget to help out with sharing links to my works and if you really love what I'm aiming to achieve maybe consider becoming be patron too. ^ o^ Oh yeah the full scale image is up for early access in the Copper Tier section! Starting to work in the highlights for Standard, meanwhile I'll also be adjusting the layers on orphan to match the temperature of the later images more.
Background will have to be repainted from scratch but should overall be the least troublesome aspect to updating this drawing. Starting to feel like I'll never get this project finished with how slow I'm moving. Gives me worry as to how well I'll be able to handle a more traditional comic format later. I guess I'll figure that out when I get back to the Shewolf Bride 1 shot comic. I wish I could find an artist skilled enough to match my style and be as dedicated to the cause, but I'm just not bringing in enough funds at the moment to really even think about hiring another full time artist just yet. My last attempt at hiring on an inker went so poorly it really left a bad taste in my mouth. If I could just work faster. So much of my time is lost in the inking process, having to clean up linework because my computer/programs refuse to paint the lines to the level of precision I'm physically drawing them at on the tablet. I always have to go back in and clean them up. Sadly its the sort of thing that only I really notice, I've seen other artists works up close and the sloppiness of their line art up close is horrifying. XD I just cant downgrade to a sloppier line work tho in the effort of saving time. I've tried to do so repeatedly but it always just ends with me eventually falling back into my slower grindstone methods after so many pages. ;V Oh yeah I'm feeling restless today so I'll be taking the night off, well I say that but I'll really be messing with the website till the wee hours of the night. . o , |
