Since my Niece is visiting for the weekend things will be rather quiet from me this weekend.
But in the meanwhile I thought I'd share my current progress with the Shewolf Brides pages I've been refining.
Here's a Side by side of the initial rough pencils with the ones I've been refining.
For page 4 the biggest changes were for the 3rd and 4th panel. The 3rd especially fought back for several days before I got an ideal pose pinned down. XD
Page 10 is largely the same just more refined now.
I'm not sure yet if I want to finish up all the pages before moving on to my next full color illustration or not. I got 2 more Vs pics to do still too, one for Prisoner and one for Vampire.
Been mostly jumping to the pages that had needed the most work to stand properly on their own for the now.
Trying to stay up to resynce my borked sleep schedule, thanks to that though was able to finish up the pencils for this piece! :D
The banner was quite the challenge to get just the right amount of flow out of it. The worn out swords are representative of Standard going down the Path of Pins, or was it Needles??
I really like how White Wolf came out looming above.
I wanted him tearing at her banner, but I just couldn't quite figure out the pose for that, and it made less sense as the bottom portion neared completion. I think this works out rather well though.
Don't be afraid to send some feedback my way, can help a lot at this stage! Tell me if anything feels off or missing.
Inks are coming along nicely! I'm going to see if I can't do something with this in Spine Esoteric too but will set it up so that I don't need to break it down quite so much. Which should save me a lot more time.
Hair will be an issue tho, will probably have to break that down deeper, and probably that back arm and hand. Which is why I saved the hair for last :p
Wont be able to post anything new for some days as I'll be kidnapped. Make sure you all stay safe over the holidays and especially stay informed!
\ ^_ ^
Now that the inks are in a good place the coloring is on! Working in the initial shadow layer for Historia.
Shading the grass will be an interesting challenge what with the angle I set the lighting for it.
I'm digging where its going so far tho just a lot of stuff to plug away at still.
Main body has been adjusted, gettin the grass to feel more unified with the winds direction.
Hows it feel to you???
Just got to where the inks were completed yesterday, but comparing it to the original pencils it just feels so stiff by comparison.
I am making the hard decision to redo the arms and the grass, as I don't like how that feels very much either.
Here are the major changes I'll be making.
Once I finish this pic I'll be getting back to the sketch requests so be sure that you got urs filled in. :p
Decided to change things up by making a fully colored illustration for patrons and non patrons alike. :p
I penciled this one up some months back, and thought it was about time I get it completed.
Need to think of some minor elements I could add to help provide her sense of scale a bit better.
Finally got the pencils for this one finished!
I'm tempted to do a set of these for each of the 4 Crimson Dames. Each with their own version of their Big Bad Wolf.
Thinking about it now, might be fun to do a stained glass take on this.
The piece is continuing to evolve as I work on it.
Got the idea to add some of the ghost bunnies. A motif I've grown to like with orphan.
Their not something she can see, nor any others in the story, their only there for us to see.
In a sense I see them reflecting her innocence, where as her Mother's specter is its inevitable loss.
Debating with myself if the wolf up top really works tho.
Contemplating that It might be better making the tree element larger, and just putting more bunnies about it.
Maybe instead could preserve the element of the eyes staring out from the murk of the forest.
